What cookies and similar technologies are

These items are required for core operation and cannot be switched off through our interface. They include:
- Session integrity tokens that protect form submissions from tampering.
- Security headers that mitigate common web attacks on supported browsers.
- Load-balancing cues that keep you on a healthy server during maintenance windows.
- Consent state storage so the banner does not repeatedly interrupt you after you have decided.
Consent records themselves are treated as strictly necessary because they evidence your choices under privacy law.
Analytics cookies
When you enable the analytics category, we may deploy first-party or privacy-oriented third-party tools that collect pseudonymous identifiers, page URLs, referrer information, scroll depth in aggregate, and coarse device data.
Reports are used to prioritise accessibility fixes, reduce layout shifts, and understand which nutrition articles are read to completion. We do not use analytics outputs to build individual profiles for automated credit or eligibility decisions.
Typical retention for analytics identifiers ranges from thirteen to twenty-six months depending on the vendor configuration, after which values reset or expire.
Marketing cookies
If you opt in, limited marketing cookies may help us attribute visits to seasonal campaigns, sequence reminder emails responsibly, and cap how often a promotional modal appears. Where we use advertising platforms (for example Google Ads), their tags may set or read cookies only in line with this category and your consent.
We do not sell your personal data to unrelated advertisers. Partners who assist with email, search, or social measurement act as processors under contract and may only use data for agreed purposes. Local storage entries
We store your granular consent selections in browser localStorage under a versioned key so preferences survive between sessions. Clearing site data through your browser removes this entry and will cause the banner to reappear.
Third-party content
Embedded maps, video players, or social widgets on future pages may set their own cookies. Where we add such features, we will list them in this policy and, when feasible, load them only after consent.
Managing and withdrawing consent
Use the Cookie Settings control in the banner or the footer link labelled “Cookie preferences” to reopen the panel. You may also adjust or delete cookies through your browser’s privacy menu; refer to the manufacturer’s help pages for step-by-step guidance.
Withdrawing consent does not affect the lawfulness of processing that occurred beforehand. Some strictly necessary items will remain because the site cannot function without them.
